Elisabeth Williams is one of the two main characters of Maid of Sker. She is voiced by Simone Somers-Yeates.
Background[]
Being the daughter of Prudence Williams, she is forced to follow her steps when it comes to singing, as her family would uncover a mythical creature on a shipwreck near the island, whose singing proved to hold enough power to control the masses to do their bidding.
After the passing of her mother, both her father and uncle would force her to practice the Siren's Song all day long, in preparations for the grand scheme of bringing profits to them at the cost of others. Unfortunately for them, she already knew of the true purpose of said song, sabotaging the main event at the Sker Hotel in hopes of thwarting the whole plan and bringing it to an end. Trying to use a partial composed music sheet as the counter to the Siren's Song, this proved to be a failure, with her ending up trapped inside the place with no hopes of rescue.
Knowing her fate, she could only hope to be assisted by the musician Thomas Evans, who was also one of the four composers for the counter song. Barricading herself at the attic, she would be communicating with him through Telephones scattered around the Hotel, guiding and assisting him when possible. This could only last for so long, as Isaac Williams would reach her hiding spot and throw her under the influence of the Siren's Song.
Once arriving at the Grand Hall, she would wait for the arrival of Thomas, who has been collecting Music Cylinders scattered around the hotel. She would ask him for the cylinders with urgency, so as to finally put a stop to the whole curse inflicted upon the place. Depending on the player, there are two possible outcomes of this encounter.
The Music Cylinders are given[]
Thomas, blindly trusting her, gives her all four cylinders. Once on her hands, her tone changes to a more sinister one while placing them on the piano and restarting the Siren's Song. While she follows along with her singing, the floor under both of them will slowly lower, and Thomas will start to suffer the effects of the Siren's Song. Behind him is Abraham, who is keeping a close look on him while they reach the insides of the cave where the siren is located at. Once they reach the end, she will leave the platform and await on the sides while Quiet Ones and her father proceed to drop the cage containing the siren to kill it.
She will then order Thomas to deliver the final blow to the siren by shooting a harpoon gun. Once this has been dome, she will rejoice in its death while a yellow spirit leaves the siren. Then, turns towards him and orders Abraham to take him away, making him place a sack on his head before taking him away. This would trigger the events for the spin-off game Sker Ritual.
The Counter Song is played[]
Thomas, knowing that she is already under the influence of the Siren's Song, decides to play the counter song without her noticing it. She will simply laugh while he prepares the Music Sheets on top of the piano and starts playing it with his own hands. Elisabeth, in a panicked state after realizing the switch, confronts Thomas before she holds her head in pain until she finally regains consciousness and helps with the counter song with her own singing. Abraham, who was waiting nearby, also suffers the same fate as her, with the difference that he will fall down to the ground. The floor will them start lowering down to reach the insides of the cave where the siren is located at.
Once at the end, both of them will witness multiple Quiet Ones stunned by the counter song, with a caged siren simply suspended in the middle of the cave. Thomas will approach the lever to drop the cage to the floor, whose door springs open, freeing the siren. It will acknowledge the both of them, before flying to the distance. Elisabeth is then seen again in front of her mother's tombstone, accompanied by Calliope.
